Welcome to Hirehack,

How it differs from normal hackathons

Hirehack differs from a normal hackathon substantially. Right from why we are doing this (which also means why you should be participating) to who would be the real winner here (there are things which have much higher valuer than the prizes, for example, a paid internship or even a potential job offer)

Individual participation

Generally, all the hackathons are team activities. 4-6 people form a team and works are divided between them. It's normal that some work hard and some may get lost on the way. Since we needed to evaluate the individual performance, we made the program an individual participation one.

You are not pitching a startup idea here

Most people participate in hackathons with their own ideas to solve a problem that they feel relevant. Some hackathons however give problem statements. In Hirehack, we are already created the problem statements for you. It's up to you to choose from the list we are already given, but it will be always limited to the ones we already made. The goal here is to see how your problem-solving skills work and how you use technology, not making a startup.

Your tech building skills are measured the most

The core of the whole activity is to measure, how good are you at understanding the problem and make a technology solution that works. Every aspect of this program are to get to understand you and your code (we are asking for a video in the final submission where you can talk about how your code works and the logic behind the solution. We're not looking for a startup/business plan )

This is a career-building activity

We designed this program to accelerate the career paths for our community members.

  1. Your submissions will let us examine your code skills closely
  2. We could recommend you to potential internships and jobs
  3. A good project with detailed documentation in your git will increase your reputation as a developer.

We look for people who are looking for internships and jobs not just prizes

Open-source

All the submissions to the program should be put in the public domain via tools like GitHub and documented properly. The ideas are generated by TinkerHub for the sole purpose of this hackathon, if you want to keep your code private, you may use the ideas but please don't submit it for the program.

Internships and Jobs

Partner companies of TinkerHub for HireHack are offering Paid internships and Jobs. Something we at TinkerHub work hard is to ensure that our community members are reaching a workplace that offers them growth in all aspects. These are verified companies and opportunities. Please refer to the opportunity listing Prizes & opportunities and don't forget to read terms and conditions.
